Field Laser alignment involves coordinating two shafts to run concentrically by the use
of a laser beam and receiver unit. By turning the coupled shafts 180 degrees, the computer
identifies the misalignment and angularity of the two pieces. This system works very well
on all shaft pairs up to 30 feet apart. Diameter of shafts can be infinite, and surface
roughness is not a factor. Resolution can be as low as .001" total run out with similar
values for angularity.
